As we departed 2009 and embraced 2010 on New Year's Eve, the Lord imparted a now word for Bread of Life Church and the body of Christ at large. He instructed me to encourage the body to allow the "Hand of the Lord" to be upon you in 2010. We discovered the hand or the "yad" of God symbolized an open hand indicating power, means, and direction.
Power (Our Warfare): When we cry out unto the Lord, as the children of Israel did, God's strong hand removes the things that hinder and afflict us from fulfilling His destiny for our lives. God is a covenant maker and a bondage breaker! Ref: Exodus 3:19-20, 6:1.
Means (Our Welfare): Ezra, a scribe in the Law of Moses, given by God, found favor with the king, who granted him all his request according to the hand of the Lord, his God upon him. With God's hand upon our lives, every need will be supplied to fulfill His plan through us. Ref: Ezra 7:6, 27-28.
Direction (Our Way): The hand of the Lord came upon Ezekiel numerous times carrying him, setting him down, and directing him to certain places. Each time, God spoke and gave him instructions. The Lord will instruct and direct us in all of our ways, if we allow His hand to rest upon our lives. Ref: Ezekiel 37:1, 22.
The Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 5:6, exhorts us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt us in due time (season). Let it be so!
